A Michelin Star is a coveted award in the food industry given to restaurants serving excellent food. To earn one Michelin star, a restaurant must be “a very good restaurant in this category”, for two it needs to be “excellent cooking, worth a detour” and for three it needs to serve “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey”.
As you can probably imagine, gaining a Michelin star is reserved for the highest quality food from the best chefs, and takes a lot of dedication to do so. Obtaining a Michelin star will put not only the restaurant on the map but also the chef.
It is this reason why the Michelin star is such a coveted award in the food industry and one that many chefs dream of receiving at some point in their cooking career.
Furthermore, a Michelin star is reserved for restaurants with outstanding service, so hospitality is a key point in many of these establishments.
