Do things at your pace

One of the most annoying things about going sightseeing with other people is that they will absorb things at their own pace. When you travel alone, you can take as much or as little time as you want with each activity. This means the entire experience will occur at your own pace and not be slowed down or rushed by anybody else.

When you travel with a group, you have to be responsible for the people in that group. For example, travelling with children means you need to supervise them constantly, which could detract from the travel experience.
